2007 August E-Newsletter

Dear Athletes!

It's always humbling and clarifying to juxtapose our fitness regimens and preparation for our next event to a reminder of our mortality.  Sadly, a very good guy, Bill Michaels, was taken from us by cancer this past Monday evening. He leaves behind a beautiful family and literally thousands of friends whose lives he touched over the past thirty plus years here in Colorado.

Bill was a fierce business competitor in the running world, an incredibly dedicated runner who didn't miss a day for over 19 years straight, and a passionate non-profit executive leader in our community. His love of baseball was typified by catching a Rockies game this past weekend and his love of running was accentuated by his statement to me last Thursday that he wished that he could just get in another run. The funeral is on August 2nd at Rodef Shalom in Denver.  He will be sorely missed.

With that sobering news, I do urge you to recommit yourself to your training and improving your fitness. Live your life with the exuberance that Bill did. Recognize that the barriers and hurdles are there to jump or climb over...not to stop any of us!

To that end, try some new courses and places to rekindle your resolve.  Duane Russell of www.racemeasure.com encouraged me to promote a free website where you can look at other training courses and map your own. Link onto the website below and try it out!

The drink works at a cellular level to enable increased performance and endurance, supports rapid recovery, and is easy on the stomach and the wallet!  No crashing or fatigue problems. A slow steady energy supply, just the best for endurance sports!

Read what runner Lorraine Hardaway from Florida has to say about A.C.T.: “Using A.C.T., I am amazed at the energy I have for my training runs and especially my races. I was drinking water or Gatorade previously before a race or workout and I can tell a big difference in my energy level. The biggest difference I feel is in endurance. Usually after an hour or so I get tired and the last two long races (Nashville half and Minnie marathon 15K at Disney) I finished with almost as much energy as when I started. My recovery has also been better than before I used A.C.T.”  Lorraine has just improved her half marathon PR by 12 minutes after using A.C.T. for just one month!

* Special offer for BKB subscribers: Get a free sample and a coupon good for 10 additional free drinks when you place your first order – a $15 value – free!  http://sportsrecoverydrink.com/freesample

* Every BKB subscriber who purchases A.C.T. will also be making a contribution to the Kipture Primary School Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit (Federal Tax Exempt EIN Number is 47-0935210). The library is completed, the kitchen is 3/4 completed and the power generator has arrived, all thanks to your generosity!
